The Village of Tequesta is a small incorporated municipality in northern Palm Beach County. Daily life orients to the Loxahatchee River, Tequesta Drive / US-1, and a compact village footprint — not the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse and not PGA Boulevard.
People say "Jupiter-Tequesta." Municipal boundaries, property deeds, and flood maps do not. Jupiter Inlet Colony is a separate town next door (incorporated 1959). The Town of Jupiter is a different city. If the listing says Tequesta, still confirm the city on the tax roll.
Village Hall: 345 Tequesta Drive. Incorporated June 4, 1957. About 2.21 square miles. The Village describes river setting and ocean frontage; parts of village geography reach the Jupiter Island barrier — that is not the Town of Jupiter Island and not Jupiter Inlet Colony. If you see "ocean" or "island" in a listing description, verify the actual legal municipality before you tour.

ZIP 33469 is used by the Village of Tequesta (Palm Beach County) and by unincorporated Martin County addresses (including places buyers associate with Jupiter Hills, Turtle Creek, and Riverbend mailing addresses). A Tequesta mailing address is not proof the lot is inside the Village of Tequesta. Confirm municipality on the listing and tax roll — not the post office.
River, flood, and dock questions
River and canal lots require different insurance and dock considerations than ocean listings. Request flood zone determinations, elevation certificates, and insurance quotes early in your due diligence.
Country club as a product type — separate from the house
The village was planned around Tequesta Country Club (201 Country Club Drive, inside village limits, member-owned; Dick Wilson course history tied to 1957 founding era). Nearby clubs with Tequesta mailing — Jupiter Hills, Turtle Creek, and others — are generally in Martin County. Membership is a separate contract from the house.
